Lisa Konplisky Lisa M. Konoplisky is a playwright, director, and actor. A graduate of Lafayette College, Lisa was a Thomas J. Watson Fellow in Brighton, England. She studied in New York with Anthony Mannino (Meisner technique) and Jeffrey Jacobi (voice) She also studied photography and design at The Cooper Union in New York. After studying writing at Columbia University she taught at Columbia College where she is currently completely her M.F.A. in writing. Lisa worked with Theatre X and American Inside Theatre in Milwaukee and with University Theatre in Madison, WI on productions of Rhinoceros, Stop Kiss, Hamlet, Careless Love and The Vagina Monologues. Lisa wrote for and performed with the improvisational group, Without Annette, in Madison and is currently writing sketches for Chicago-based improv troupe Suspicious Clowns. Her plays have appeared at The Lyceum Theatre in Brooklyn, NY, at the Circle Theatre in Forest Park, Chicago, at the Camanea Theatre in Chicago, and the Stockyards Theatre Project, also in Chicago. She is a two-time winner of Speaking Ring Theatre’s Vitality Playwriting Contest in Chicago and her most recent play, Isch Wunsche Den Schonen Liebestod will be part of Mercury Theatre’s 10th Anniversary Playfest in July. Lisa will be one of four resident playwrights participating in the Hothouse at the Annex Theatre in Seattle, Washington this fall and will also be a guest artist at the Magnetic Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin. Lisa teaches acting to children and adults at Children’s Theatre of Madison and the Madison Community Arts Program. She is currently completing her first novel, Original Sin. A monologue from that novel will appear in Monologues By Women For Women (Heinemann Press) in 2005. |
